Interior Design and Renovation Project
This four bedroom, grade II listed town house was over 300 years old and held a prominent position in an old coaching town, but had been left in a complete state of disrepair and was in need of comprehensive overhaul.
Samantha worked with the architect to draw up plans to re-design the property into the dwelling the owners had always dreamed of. The renovation brief required keeping the sympathetic integrity of the building, whilst injecting new life into the structure.
Once a new roof, damp-proof course and structural alterations had taken place, the design projects could commence for the kitchen, bathroom, dining room, living room and bedrooms.
Extensive renovation of original sash windows, re-pointing of the inglenook fireplace and repair of original wood flooring was essential. Concept boards and drawings enabled visualisation of the design scheme. A budget was agreed and everything was designed with the town house history and the owners' preferences for styling in mind.
Iconic Chadder & Co Victorian bateau bath, hand-cast aluminium polished basin, Perrin & Rowe taps and traditional high toilet cistern were chosen for the en-suite. Solid hand-made oak cupboards were sourced for the country-styled kitchen as well as Aga and wine fridge.
